How to Delete Browsing History on Android Phone/Tablet?

It is always advised to delete or clear your browsing history before you close the application/browser. So, let us find out how to delete browsing history on an Android mobile phone.

Default Android Browser (Internet): Most of the devices using Android 4.0 or earlier will have a built-in browser which is named “Internet”. In order to erase browsing history from this Internet browser, go to Menu > Settings > Privacy Settings > Select all the the options such as “clear cache, clear history, clear all cookie data, clear form data, and clear location access”.


To remove stored passwords, go to Security settings and use the clear passwords option.

Chrome for Android: It is also the most used mobile browser these days. In order to delete browsing history from Chrome browser, tap the Menu button > Settings > Privacy > Clear Browsing Data (top-right corner). Select the data you’d like to clear and tap the Clear button.

Additional Tip: Chrome users can use the New Incognito tab from the Menu to disable the tracking of the pages you’ve visited.


 Opera Mobile Browser: Tap the O-Shaped Menu in your Opera browser > Settings icon > Privacy > Select all that apply (cookies, passwords, cache, history etc.) and tap the “X” mark icon beside every option.

 Firefox for Android: The next most used android browser app after the Chrome is the Firefox for Android app. To delete your browsing history from the Firefox browser app, simply tap the Menu button on Firefox > Settings > Privacy & Security > Clear private data > Select all that apply and tap the Clear data button.
